Cole Thomas Allen of California, a guest at the Washington Hilton Hotel, has been arrested after being apprehended by law enforcement.

The 31-year-old teacher and engineer from California sent an alleged message to family members saying that he wanted to target administration officials.

The alleged gunman raced through a magnetometer before being apprehended, according to a Washington Post analysis of visuals.

Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, said President Trump was “likely” a target, along with other members of the administration.

Officials believe the suspect traveled by train from California to Chicago and then on to Washington, where he checked in as a guest to the hotel.

The suspected shooter at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner wrote a manifesto and attended a No King’s protest, according to a senior Trump administration official.
