Overnight Ukrainian drones struck Moscow region in what officials described as an attack by more than 80 drones, setting fire to the region's largest oil depot. Hours later Russia hit the Dnipro bridge in Zaporizhzhia, wounding five and halting traffic, alongside strikes on Sumy, a Kryvyi Rih hospital and a civilian vessel in the Black Sea that left dead.
By midday attention shifted to President Zelensky citing fresh intelligence that Russia was preparing a massive strike. He convened Stavka, ordering work on electronic warfare and long-range drones and a mirror response, while the Air Force said air defence was over 75% staffed and Ukrenergo reintroduced emergency outages from 15:00.
In the evening Zelensky said Russian drones had attacked civilian vessels off Bulgaria and urged Ukrainians to heed alerts as three Tu-160 bombers took off.
